Holding Veolia Accountable in Managing the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District

Veolia, the private company that manages the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD), is under public scrutiny following accusations of mismanagement and water quality issues. This comes as its $700 million public contract is ending and they are competing against Jacobs Solutions for a new contract.

Common Ground, a nonprofit advocacy group, has called for an independent audit of Veolia, and MMSD has since created a whistleblower hotline for individuals to submit complaints about Veolia’s mismanagement of MMSD. And more recently, Milwaukee County supervisors are calling for an independent audit into the company’s operations before signing off on a new contract.

Milwaukee residents deserve to know their water quality is safe and that it is being managed properly before a new multimillion dollar contract is signed.

Contact the MMSD Commission at (414) 272-5100 and urge them to wait on signing any new contract until an independent audit of Veolia is completed.
